Jellurgal's Educational Excursions are an immersive three-hour educational experience for up to 75 students per day.

Please note: due to costs associated with running this tour, the minimum cost of $1350 per session is charged, this is for up to a maximum of 75 students. Teachers and Helpers are Free of Charge (max 5).

Tours run during school terms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with all availability online.  

Educational Excursion Itinerary:

9:30 AM – 9:45 AM
Begin the day with a captivating live Aboriginal song and dance performance, setting the tone for an immersive cultural experience.

9:45 AM – 10:00 AM
Enjoy a presentation in our Dreaming Amphitheatre, featuring an interactive 3D map interpretation of the local landscape and its significance.

10:00 AM – 10:15 AM
Watch a video presentation about the Dreaming Mountain, offering deeper insights into its spiritual and historical importance.

10:15 AM – 10:30 AM
Take a break for morning tea on the Veranda, with serene views of the surrounding area.

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Embark on a guided walk to the ancient midden on Jellurgal (Dreaming Mountain), where students will learn about the cultural and historical significance of this sacred site.

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Return to the Veranda for lunch, reflecting on the morning’s experiences.

Commentary for this experience is specifically tailored for primary and secondary school students aged 6–17, aligning with the school curriculum, particularly Indigenous Studies.

During the experience, students will gain insights into:


  • Aboriginal stories and Dreamtime legends connected to the areas explored.

  • Ecological practices of the Traditional Custodians, highlighting sustainable living.

  • The significance of native flora and fauna, and how these resources supported the lifestyle and daily practices of the people who inhabited Jellurgal thousands of years ago.
